TREEEEEEEEEEEEE
Hi,
I handle social media and online advertising for the Tucker Foundation, the home to service and faith at Dartmouth College. Thanks for all these tips – at Tucker, we incentivized students, faculty and staff to join our online community (becoming a 'fan' of our page on Facebook) by offering a donation to Partners In Health (the non-profit founded by Dartmouth's president Dr. Jim Yong Kim) for every 10 new fans.
Within several days, we had ~2000+ fans (more than 50% of our student body!). However, like you mentioned, engaging people in the online community is important. We quickly realized that pictures and videos were so much more powerful, especially when you tag those in them. It makes the online comunity a lot more personal.
Thanks,
Chris
