Bad fut le second single de l’album Bad de Michael Jackson. Il est sorti en septembre 1987. Le titre fut le second des cinq singles tirés de Bad à se classer 1er au Billboard Hot 100. Le morceau était à l’origine prévu comme un duo avec Prince, longtemps “rival” de Michael Jackson. Quincy Jones, dans une interview incluse dans la réédition 2001 de Bad, raconte que Prince aurait dit à Michael Jackson qu’il ne voulait pas y participer car le titre serait un tube même sans lui. Ce titre a été composé par Michael Jackson.
