He also really limited the seconds that his face was to be shown – he was concerned about over-exposure (something like 4 seconds total). So he was actually being altrustic taping these commercials – he did them to help out his brother’s finances. He did the Victory tour for the same reason, and then donated all his earnings from that tour to charity – he was a multimillionaire then.
If all of you do some research, you will find info that MJ really didn’t want to have anything to do with Pepsi. His brothers and parents strongly encouraged him to sign on with Pepsi because it would make each of the brothers a few million a piece. MJ’s mother said that the brothers really needed the money (MJ did not) and that MJ should do the commercials with the brothers for their sake. So he signed on, but with a lot of rules that he put in the contract – like that he was to never …..
