As the other members of the Jackson 5 left the stage, Michael transitioned dramatically into his own solo spot. Widely hailed as Michael’s breakthrough performance as a solo artist, he performed “Billie Jean”, which at the time was in the middle of a seven-week run atop the Billboard Hot 100 music charts. Michael Jackson’s concert performances of “Billie Jean” in the years since Motown 25 were always formatted on his performance on this special, from the opening pose with the fedora to the moonwalk routine in the song’s bridge.

I love seeing Michael in his 20s. He was so slim, confident and in the moment. I also celebrate Michael’s brothers. They really appeared to love and respect each other. I’m thankful that Michael had his brothers. Everything changed once the brothers all started getting married and leaving the home. Love!

@mrsklmiller his already masterful and unique dance style would create an awesome visual effect..Sort of like..”natural special effects”…He was soo gifted in so many way…A master singer,dancer and showman…who totally understand that he had had control of his audience from the age of 8 until his passing..Great artists have come and gone..and more will come in the future but there will NOT be another one like him…R.I.P MASTER SHOWMAN
@mrsklmiller Just ANOTHER thing that made Michael Jackson a master showman….VERY LITTLE that he did was by accident…His outfits were always planned(by him)….The Shirt was indeed one of his favorites..The Jacket actually belonged to his Mom…He saw it in her closet and asked her to wear it becase it fit what he was going for…Michael’s Style wasn’t mostly about appearance rather than effect..He understood that the way the lights would jump off all those Sequins COMBINED with
