[RIP] Michael Jackson (and others) – We Are The World (Original)

by admin on March 18, 2010

Michael Jackson is no longer. But his music will always be here. SONGTEXT: There comes a time when we heed a certain call, When the world must come together as one There are people dying And it`s time to lend a hand to life, The greatest gift of all We can`t go on pretending…

this is ORIGINAL! since there was no much intervention of technology then, I could clearly hear the quality of their voices. It’s a lot better and more touching than the new one.

Wow, this is the first time I’ve ever heard this version of the song (lol, seriously, but anyway) and I think it is so so so much better than the new version for Haiti. In fact, I didn’t even like the new one -_- This one is beautiful and feels much more meaningful, somehow.

@ethiopiansdope You can find everything you need to know on Wikipedia x)

Technology will never replace or improve natural talent, The artists in the original are true superstars who’s music span generations, definition of cream of the crop.

Original is the best hands down. I mean with the better technology you’d think the new version would top the old but no. My hats off to the artists back then, not only did they have the talent but the passion as well. They were pretty much taking a chance with the song and all the artists together yet their singing was well harmonized. The new version had the proper guidence but the results weren’t the same. Well they did alright FOR a remake that is. Nothing ever tops the original.

i agree with you 100%

cartertsumi101 March 18, 2010 at 10:27 am

@rockdiva888 i agree the haiti remake was good but the auto tune and rap killed the song but however the youtube version wich is the one sung by all the youtube singers collab was super great and showed the true potential of the youtube community.

ethiopiansdope March 18, 2010 at 10:27 am

Can anyone share who are all the artist in this song?

arouska March 18, 2010 at 10:27 am

so much better than the new one

rockdiva888 March 18, 2010 at 10:27 am

They should have NEVER tried to make this song over..it is ICONIC and the voices and parts are PERFECT because they were hand picked Michael…Perfection can not be improved upon…Additionally another of those voices have gone on like the late great Ray Charles…

Is it just me, or does this remind you of “Hydrofoil – The Musical”?

Troghen March 18, 2010 at 10:27 am

2:30 Steve Perry, best band ever(Journey) I didn’t know he was in it. I love this song though.

jfrd28 March 18, 2010 at 10:27 am

@IronAndSteelTilDeath I agree to that. It just makes me mourn. Maybe this is really what Don MacLean meant with “The day the music died”

IronAndSteelTilDeath March 18, 2010 at 10:27 am

Hip-hop used to be good. I still love The Roots because they play instruments and are poetic and they can actually rhyme properly.

I agree, most people become singers nowadays because they’re good-looking, Whereas before, people became good-looking because they were singers, because there was talent and substance behind this person.

Basically, music isn’t smart anymore.
