Controversy and scandal marred Michael Jackson’s reputation as the most influential entertainer of all time, however a new book about the King of Pop aims to change that. Joseph Vogel, a doctoral candidate in the University of Rochester’s English Department, says he wrote “Man in the Music: The Creative Life and Work of Michael Jackson” to fill a void left by all the books that focused on tabloid gossip rather than his music. Although Michael Jackson’s legacy as an artist has received less attention in recent years, Vogel says his work puts him in the cultural pantheon of icons like the Beatles and Elvis Presley.
Jon Bon Jovi Jokes About Death Rumors
There were reports that surfaced on the internet that claimed that Jon Bon Jovi had died. Thankfully, it was all BS. At a concert Monday night in New Jersey, Bon Jovi who was present and clearly not dead joked about the incident. Boni Jovi’s Twitter feed posted this message: “Heaven looks a lot like New Jersey” -jbj. Rest assured that Jon is fine!” The story claimed that Bon Jovi had died in New Jersey while on his world tour. Whoever reported the story basically copied in part from a 2009 Los Angeles Times HYPERLINK “latimesblogs.latimes.com that announced the death of Michael Jackson. In this past week there have been multiple reports that claim that certain musician have died. Thankfully none of them have been accurate, but just stupid hoaxes.
