,abcnews.go.com photo of Michael Jackson lying dead in a hospital bed was shown in a courtroom today and jurors heard a shocking audio tape of a drugged Jackson slurring his words so badly that he was barely understandable. The photo and the audio were part of the opening statement prosecutors made at the trial of Dr. Conrad Murray, who is accused of involuntary manslaughter in the death of the king of pop. Attorney David Walgren showed a photo of Jackson dancing at the Staples Center the night before he overdosed on propofol and put the picture side by side with a picture of Jackson lying lifeless in a hospital bed wearing a hospital gown. “What happened between that time and approximate 12 hours later when Michael Jackson is dead on June 25, 2009?” Walgren asked. “What you will learn through the evidence is that what happened during that time frame is that the acts and omissions of Michael Jackson’s personal doctor, Conrad Murray, directly led to his premature death at the age of 50.” Michael Jackson’s Drugged Phone Call Murray, 58, could face four years in prison and lose his medical license. Throughout the opening statement, prosecutors attacked Murray’s medical skills, saying he showed gross negligence in his treatment of Jackson. Prosecutors played a recording of a drugged Jackson. The recording had been made on Murray’s iPhone on May 10, 2009, a little more than a month before Jackson died on June 25, 2009. Jackson’s voice is nearly unrecognizable as he stumbles …

Shortly after, the defense gave their side of the story. Dr. Conrad Murray ‘s attorney told the jury that Jackson caused his own death. He adds that Jackson self-injected the propofol and had also swallowed 8 pills which created the “perfect storm” that killed the pop singer. Hollyscoop talked to Michael Jackson ‘s former attorney, Mark Geragos , to get his take on the trial. “What [Dr. Murray] needs to do and what his lawyers need to do is establish that there is some reasonable doubt as to whether or not Dr. Murray is the cause of the death,” Geragos told Hollyscoop. As far as Michael’s children testifying, Geragos says it wouldn’t be a surprise if the Jackson kids was called to the stand. “The kids are on the witness list, number one. Video hosted by Ani Esmailian / Twitter: ?twitter.com Michael Jackson’s son Prince to testify against Dr. Conrad Murray. Hey guys this is Ani Esmailian for Hollyscoop.com. Michael’s eldest son Prince is considered a witness in the death of MJ and while he doesn’t want to testify, he’s telling the Jackson family he’ll do whatever he needs to do to get justice for his late father. So why is Prince on the witness list, and more importantly, why did he have to witness his father’s death? Apparently Dr. Murray called Prince into the room for help during the emergency, and when MJ’s son entered the room, he burst into tears. They’ve already had to deal with the loss of their only parent, and now this? These poor kids just can’t catch a break. If Prince does take the stand, Katherine will most likely as the courtroom to be cleared and no cameras will be allowed to shoot him. It’s a pretty big request, but the judge may be sympathetic.
