The 2006 (18th annual) World Music Awards were held in London, England and hosted by actress and vocalist Lindsay Lohan on 15 November 2006.[1] Performances included a Thriller recreation by Chris Brown and a children’s chorus rendition of “We Are the World” with Michael Jackson. This was Jackson’s final live performance. The Diamond Award honors those recording-artists who have sold over 100 million albums during their career. Past recipients include Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Rod Stewart and Bon Jovi. This year’s recipient was Michael Jackson. His most popular album, “Thriller” has sold more than 104 million copies worldwide since its release in 1982 – making it the best-selling album of all time.

The song also serves as the theme song to Jackson’s 1988 film Moonwalker.
