Michael Jackson: 30th Anniversary Special was a series of two concerts that took place on September 7, 2001 and September 10, 2001. In late November 2001, the CBS television network aired the concerts as a two-hour special in honor of Michael Jackson’s thirtieth year as a solo entertainer (his first solo single, “Got to Be There”, was recorded in 1971). The show was edited from footage of two separate concerts Michael had orchestrated in New York City’s Madison Square Garden on September 7 and September 10 of 2001. The shows sold out in five hours. Ticket prices were pop’s most expensive ever; the best seats cost 00 and included a dinner with Michael Jackson and a signed poster. Jackson reportedly earned .5 million for each of the two concerts, which is over 0000 per minute. The concerts are mentioned in the VH1 biopic Man in the Mirror: The Michael Jackson Story, which notes that the last of the two concerts wrapped up just hours before two hijacked jet planes crashed into the Twin Towers of Lower Manhattan’s World Trade Center (see September 11 attacks). Michael Jackson What More Can I Give Music Video

I want to dedicate this song to my country Chile!!! FUERZA CHILE!!! What More Can I Give is a charity single by Michael Jackson and more than 35 other artists, with the goal of raising million for numerous charities in response to the September 11, 2001 attacks. A Spanish version was also recorded. Michael was originally inspired to write the song after meeting with former South African president Nelson Mandela in 1999. The single was never released due to a conflict between Jackson and Sony Music. Sony believed the release would create a marketing conflict with Invincible. However, even months after Invincible’s release, Sony still refused to release the single. This was one of several factors in Jackson’s labelling Sony chief Tommy Mottola a “racist” who he believed had sabotaged the marketing of his new material, and thus announcing his withdrawal from Epic Records. On October 27, 2003, an edited version (3:36) was finally released via the now defunct website whatmorecanigive.com, the official site. Michael Jackson helped organize the United We Stand: What More Can I Give benefit concert at RFK Stadium in Washington, DC The concert was aired on October 21, 2001, and included performances from dozens of major artists, including MJ, who performed his song “What More Can I Give” as the finale. RIP MY ANGEL
