Taylor should be commended for her class-she clearly expected MJ to win. Rarely do we see such grace these days as she showed in her speech, much of which was to Michael and his family. As she said, music isn’t (or shouldn’t) be about competition.
well tbh michael jackson i dead. lets facce it. i love michael jackson he was amazing. r.i.p. but someone who is actually alive definately deserves the award. taylor is new and extrmely popular and her music rocks and shes really talented. of course she was gonna win! her album went 5 times PLATINUM and her tour sold out in 3 minutes! shes an amazing artist of 2009. and lets remember this is the ama’s 2009!
@viki17m Ok, I never said Taylor was better than Michael. I have respect for him but Taylor achieved more than him this year. It’s artist OF THE YEAR award. Well, if nobody cared about Taylor then why they keep buying her albums? And I won’t discuss this any further anymore. I didn’t say anything bad about him. Michael changed your life with his music, Taylor changed mine. It’s just sad people need to bring her down. She works hard.

MJ was in the Guiness world records several times, and sold like 800 million albums (and counting)won more than 350 awards(and counting), he’s at the hall of fame, gave the longest tour, the biggest concert,he’s been in the music business for 45 years..etc.etc..if this taylor swift can manage 2 more years, she’s lucky…btw Michael isnt the entertainer of the decade, he is the GREATEST ENTERTAINER OF THE WORLD…ok?
Taylor sold one million albums this year. Still, Michael sold over a million songs which made him the first artist to sell that many digital downloads. Also, his album “Thriller” sold 100,000 more which puts it at 110 million copies worldwide. Also, “This Is It” the movie and album have sold A LOT this year. I’m sorry, but when you look at it, Michael hs sold more this year from duplicated clothes to movie tickets to albums than Taylor has. Did Taylor actually deserve this award?
@viki17m Yes 21st century music suck but you know why people still buy Taylor’s album? Cause shes a real artist. She’s not fake like Britney etc. She writes her own lyrics, play instruments. She’s not like Disney stars. Or you prefer Miley Cyrus? Taylor is very talented and mature for her age. She may not the best singer but I enjoy her voice and at least she always sing live. Oh yeah, she wasn’t at the AMAs cause she was in London for her Fearless tour.

All her concerts sold out, some even in one minute. She’s the first ever country artist who won a VMA award. And lets be honest, MJ he didnt died, would he be nominated? Nope. Taylor was the only artist this year who managed to sell more than him and broke so many records.

Michael Jackson may be the artist of this decade but Taylor is defenitely artist of THE YEAR. She sold more albums than every other artist, EVEN Michael Jackson. Tell me what did Michael did this year to deserver this award? Taylor’s “Fearless” album is still on top 10 after one year and all her Fearless concerts were sold out. Some even in ONE MINUTE. so I think it’s far. And you are complaining and think another artist should have won then you should voted for them. So it’s kinda own fault eh?

Taylor didn’t deserve this. I don’t even care about the fact that she beat Michael Jackson, the fact is she can’t sing and she shouldn’t even be on the radio. She’s a sweet girl, she’s very nice, and so are her lyrics but that doesn’t mean that she can sing.
